Celia and George’s wedding was full of energy, it was one of those weddings that I didn’t really want to end! Both are so kind and down to earth and so much fun!
The Preparations
The morning of the wedding was the first chance I’d had to meet Celia in person. We met up early in the day so that she could show us around and have a little chat before everything got going.
Rich my second shooter was to photograph the ushers lunch whilst I captured Celia’s preparations. The preparations were incredibly special, Celia was wearing a stunning family tiara that had been passed down through generations. As well as being enthralled by the tiara I’ll also confess to being a little bit in love with their adorable fluffy dog who loved having her photo taken.
The Ceremony at St Andrew and St Marys Church, Stoke Rochford
Celia looked stunning as she arrived at the church in a vintage Rolls Royce and I don’t think I’ve ever seen such adorable flower girls and page boys, they looked so cute! I always love the moment when a groom sees his bride for the first time, I think it’s safe to say that George was completely blown away when he saw Celia.
Then it was back to the house where the rest of the celebrations were lively and full of fun. At the reception, guests were wowed by an amazing magician wandering among them doing tricks while a lively Steel drum band provided a musical backdrop.
Little Ponton Hall
Celia and George are such a lovely couple and spent the whole day full of smiles. I managed to sneak them away for two separate portrait sessions. One in the beautiful gardens and the second later in the golden hour.
After speeches that had people laughing and crying in equal measure it was time for the liveliest party I ever photographed. It was so fun, and the dancing so energetic that I was glad I could stand on the stage and get a great viewpoint. One of the downsides of not being so tall is getting swamped on a dancefloor. Rich, on the other hand, is over 6ft so he could stay in the thick of the action and get some killer shots (although at one point he did find himself pinned to a marquee pole and lifted off the ground with the energy of the dancers!).
It was a great chance to catch up with Rebecca and Ben, I had previously photographed their wedding and they had kindly recommended me to Celia and George.
This was one wedding that neither myself nor Rich wanted to end, a wonderful couple that we have a lot of love for and such a great lively atmosphere. What more could we ask for!
