Cotswolds Field of Dreams Photographer – Rainbows & Surfing

Johanna & Sam’s Wedding at the Cotswolds Field of Dreams

Well, I can honestly say that Johanna and Sam’s wedding at the Cotswolds Field of Dreams was the windiest wedding I’ve ever photographed, and possibly the rainiest too. But there was no way that this wonderful couple was allowing the weather to spoil their wedding.

The celebrations were in a marquee in the middle of a field. It felt very cosy despite the wind and rain. It was like being contained a little bubble of happiness. In the breaks between showers, the views over the Cotswolds were stunning.

I started the day by photographing both the ushers’ lunch at a local pub and the girls getting ready in a lovely Air B&B.  Johanna and Sam had chosen to get married in the Cotswolds since it’s Sam’s part of the world. Johanna brought some of her Scottish heritage to the wedding and walked down the aisle behind a kilted piper.

Then it was on to the Cotswolds Field of Dreams where there was lots of hair in faces and dresses and veils blowing in the wind, but that didn’t stop the guest having lots of fun balancing on the surf machine.

I’ve always dreamed of photographing a newly married couple underneath a rainbow. This was the wedding where my dream came true! I was so happy that Jo and Sam were willing to pop out between the showers for some portraits, the dramatic stormy skies and colourful rainbow gave us some unique images.

Back to the celebrations…

Two best men who gave brilliant speeches. There were so many smiles, lots of heartfelt hugs. Crowd surfing (which Sam did upright as if on a real surfboard!) a very serious dance-off between the boys and girls, a fire pit and a sparkler exit. What a beautiful day!

Some Lovely Words from the Couple

“Oh Louise! Thank you so very much! Sam and I LOVE them and think you are marvellous. On such a blustery day it must have been impossible to take any without our hair flying all over the place. I can’t thank you enough for trying your best in the wind and rain- what a day!

They are WONDERFUL! So many to choose from and we have just spent the last hour going through each one and reliving the whole day. You are such a brilliant photographer and we are blown away by your photos!”
