God’s Own Junkyard Engagement Session – Erica & Matt

Erica & Matt’s Colourful Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

London Engagement Photography – God’s Own Junkyard and Walthamstow Wetlands

In all my years of pre-wedding photoshoots, I don’t think I have ever done one with two locations that have been so drastically different. From the riot of neon colour of God’s Own Junkyard to the tranquil, almost monochrome, lakeside location these two settings felt like a world apart.

God’s Own Junkyard is a wonderfully eccentric space, full of neon signs, film props, vintage fairground signs and so much more, all inside a very unassuming looking warehouse. It’s one of those places that I’ve always thought would be an amazing setting for an engagement shoot so I was so excited to hear when Erica and Matt told me we had permission to take some of their pre-wedding photos inside. It was such a fun setting and completely lived up to my expectations.

From there we hopped into an Uber and headed to Walthamstow Wetlands where we wandered along a wooded path to take photos by the lake and in the long grassy areas. The calmness and tranquillity made a great contrast to the vibrant energy of earlier and I loved that we were able to fit the two extremes into one shoot!

If you are looking for a London Engagement photographer and need inspiration for backdrops I am always happy to suggest locations. God’s Own Junkyard made a great spot for an engagement session, but I do believe that it can be a little tricky to get a permit to shoot here, we were very lucky to be able to use this location!
