I love to travel for weddings so you can imagine how excited I was to photograph Lara and Jeroen’s wedding in the beautiful seaside town of Cascais in Portugal. Lara and Jeroen are such a kind natured and friendly couple. I couldn’t wait to photograph them and explore a new area on either side of their wedding day.
Before the celebrations started they separately headed to a lovely little garden next to the lighthouse for a First Look followed by some portraits in Cascais’ Botanical Garden. We then all made our way to their wedding venue Coconuts for the rest of the celebrations.
The wedding ceremony was beautiful. The blue seas and skies were a perfect backdrop to an extraordinary outdoor ceremony delivered by one of their closest friends with vows that were very personal and incredibly heartfelt.
The indoor space was decorated in blue and white to reflect the outdoors, and the day continued with lots of fun and laughter. We even managed to sneak away for some quiet, romantic portraits during the golden hour.
I also have to mention their fantastic wedding cake! A tower of Pastel de Natas one of my favourite Portuguese sweet treats!
This was my first wedding by the sea, and I can’t wait to shoot another!
