Erica & Matt’s Dorset House School and Arundel Cathedral Wedding

A Glorious Summer Wedding in West Sussex

It was a glorious sunny morning when I headed over to Arundel, West Sussex, to photograph the wedding of the lovely Erica and Matt. While I headed straight to Erica’s parents’ home where she was getting ready my second shooter Emmie was in Arundel with Matt photographing the groom’s preparations.

Once Erica was dressed I headed into Arundel making sure I arrived at the cathedral ahead of her so I could take a few photos inside, it’s such a grand historic building with a stunning interior. This was my first visit to Arundel and from the little bit, I saw I would love to go back and explore some more.

Erica arrived at Arundel Cathedral in a vintage Rolls Royce and she looked stunning in a lace-trimmed dress with a long veil and train. I loved the little glances these two kept exchanging during the ceremony. After the wedding ceremony, we headed to Dorset House School for the rest of the celebrations. Dorset House School is a beautiful rustic setting with a lovely large garden area outside the barn, the weather was perfect and everyone was happy to spend time outdoors. The hay bales for seats and the traditional games added to the rustic feel, the coconut shy was great fun but it did start to feel little risky with those heavy balls heading for the camera!

There were so many great spots for photographs, I love an old rustic wall and there were plenty to be found as well as lots of climbing roses. We decided to split their portraits into two sessions so that we could head out again and make the most of the lovely light in the golden hour.

The speeches were accompanied by lots of laughter and later Erica and Matt kicked off the evening entertainment with a wonderfully choreographed dance routine. After lots of dancing and partying it was great for everyone to be able to cool off beneath the party lights in the fresh air of a beautiful starry night.
