Celia & Oli’s Riverhill Himalayan Gardens Wedding

A Winter Wedding in Kent

It was raining on the day of Celia and Oli’s wedding at Riverhill Gardens in Sevenoaks, Kent, but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. In fact, it added to the atmosphere of their winter wedding, misted up windows can really add a cosy feeling to the day.

St Mary’s Church Kippington

Celia looked beautiful in a gorgeous dress and bolero jacket by Suzanne Neville as she arrived by vintage car at St Mary’s Church in Kippington. The church has great sentimental value for Celia, her family have attended for many years and the funeral of her much loved Grandpa was also held here.  The interior of the church had been dressed with the most incredible flowers by Flower and Glory, the colours of the flowers combined with the candlelight created a wonderfully warm and intimate atmosphere for the ceremony.

There wasn’t much daylight remaining after the ceremony so we quickly sneaked around the back of the church for a few portraits before the confetti shots. We’d then worked out that if we hurried to Riverhill we would have time for a few very quick portraits in the gardens before the light faded completely. Unfortunately, I hadn’t allowed for my car being blocked in at the church! But no need to worry, my trusted second shooter Emmie was able to arrive at the venue at the same time as Celia and Oli and squeezed in a few portraits in the last remaining minutes of daylight. It’s always a great help to have a second shooter when timings are tight and it’s a bonus to know there’s someone very capable on hand when things don’t quite go to plan.

Riverhill Himalayan Gardens

Celia and Oli really wanted a garden marquee wedding but couldn’t have one at home in winter due to boggy gardens. Riverhill certainly didn’t disappoint, the marquee looked stunning with fairy lights everywhere and more stunning floral arrangements. Catering was by Peapod & Co, the canapes were beautifully presented and tasted fantastic, I managed to test a few sausage rolls and they were delicious.

I love how tactile Celia and Oli are, the connection between them and their love for each other is really obvious, there were so many little moments between them to be captured. When it came to the speeches Celia’s was amazing!

It was great to see the walls of the dancefloor section of the marquee were lined with black fabric, it helped create some really dramatic dance floor pictures as the celebrations ended with a very energetic party.
