Tell me about your favourite wedding last season?
How do you help couples customise their wedding?
I advise them, if they seek my advice, about suppliers, accommodation and transport and I put them in touch with a wedding organiser, if they wish to employ one. I am always present during the event.
I don’t have a favourite wedding from last season, they were all very different from each other: some were rustic in character, others were more formal. Everyone had a marquee. It is lovely when the marquees are sited in the croquet lawn, leaving the 2-tiered 17th Century walled Dutch garden un-encumbered in its glory.

What’s included when a couple books your venue for their wedding?
What do you have planned for the future?
The use of the walled Dutch Garden, the grounds surrounding the house and garden and use of the front field for parking. If there is to be a ceremony, we offer two rooms in the house where the couple can be individually interviewed by the registrars. If it is a small wedding in the dining-room, the couple may have a bar in the hall to serve drinks in the garden after the ceremony.
We hope to host more weddings and parties with our neighbouring restaurant, Pythouse Kitchen Garden, where there is an adjacent Glamping site.

What’s one interesting fact about Hatch House?
What makes Hatch House unique?
Hatch House used to belong to the Hyde family. Anne Hyde married James II so the house has a link to the Stuarts, Queens Anne and Mary, through their mother Anne Hyde. In the 18th Century Hatch was lived in by the rum smuggler, Henry Bristol. About half of the house burnt down at that period. In 1908 the house was resurrected by the Arts & Crafts architect Detmar Blow, who integrated the remaining north part of the house, creating new rooms to the south, and the theatrical west facing façade that overlooks the Dutch garden.
You can visit their website here.
It’s a very romantic venue set in the heart of the Wardour valley in Wiltshire. It’s secluded and private and the gardens create rooms, which means a large wedding can use them all or if someone has chosen a more intimate event they can have that too.

Summer Wedding at Hatch House
Rebecca and Ben’s wedding day started slightly differently than usual for me with an Usher's Lunch at The Beckford Arms, a stylish country pub in the Wiltshire countryside. From there I headed to Rebecca’s grandmother’s home where the preparations were taking place, not only is it a beautiful character home but it also holds a special place in Rebecca’s heart.
Summer Wedding at Hatch House
I was really looking forward to meeting up with Sarah and Rob again to photograph their wedding at Hatch House in Wiltshire. I had photographed Rebecca and Ben’s wedding at Hatch House a few years ago and it’s one of those venues that I’d always hoped to pay a return visit.
