Ben & Nigel’s Eco Wedding in Devon, Tiverton
Eco Wedding Devon Photography
Ben and Nigel’s wedding day started with a small ceremony at Tiverton registry office for immediate family and close friends. After a few photographs everyone headed to Ben’s parents partially built eco house where they were having a second ceremony and wedding celebrations with a larger group of family and friends.
Ben, Nigel and myself took some time away from the guests before the ceremony for a portrait session, making the most of the gardens and heading down to a small stream.
Ceremony on Old Disused Train Tracks
We were all a little concerned that the ceremony might be a wash out but luckily the rain held off. The ceremony was being held on a disused railway line in the grounds of the property and all the guests were seated on hay bales, so a downpour really wouldn’t have been ideal!
Outdoor Garden Reception
Canapés were enjoyed in the garden under a stormy threatening sky. Fortunately the rain held off until we were just about finished with group photographs and everyone was able to grab umbrellas and head for the cover of the marquee. After that it was non-stop torrential rain and the marquee eventually became a little waterlogged. Luckily I had a pair of wellies in my car!
Wedding Breakfast & Party
Ben and Nigel both have a very sweet tooth and they had named the tables after their favourite ice creams. Every guest made a cake or something sweet and there was a fabulous array of goodies spread out alongside the wonderful Lego inspired wedding cake that Nigel’s sister made.

After a great meal and highly entertaining speeches, the celebrations continued with a ceilidh band and a very lively party. It was non-stop dancing with guests whirling around the dance floor and no-one seeming to care if they ended up dancing in rainwater.
What a wonderful wedding it was!
