Botleys Mansion Wedding
Chertsey, Surrey
Clare and Fred met through mutual friends at a popular watering hole in Clapham called Venn Street Records. Fred had been watching the rugby match at Twickenham earlier that day and Clare noticed right away (apparently it was hard not to notice) that he was wearing a ridiculously tight rugby top. It was evident from their first encounter, that their wedding would be nothing but fun, relaxed and definitely not taking themselves too seriously.
For Fred’s 30th birthday, Clare surprised him with a trip to Barcelona. They rented a gorgeous apartment with a rooftop terrace. In the warmth of the afternoon sunshine, enjoying some tapas and beer, Fred surprised Clare right back by proposing.
The wedding was to be very large and the best choice was the Botleys Mansion in Chertsey. Clare was most in love with the glass atrium where the wedding breakfast was to be held. The grounds are green and lush and the weather was clear, sunny and gorgeous. To keep the outside ceremony intimate, the couple decide to have only immediate family attend. The beautiful bridesmaids were adorned in deep and vibrant coral dresses and the flowers were breathtaking. Clare looked stunning in her lovely yet simple gown. As the two locked eyes, it was clear that the stress of the planning melted away and all they really needed was each other.
A drinks reception in front of the mansion followed by a glittering and warm wedding breakfast in the glass enclosed conservatory, it was all so very picturesque. The speeches were heartfelt and the rice crispy cake was delicious. As the party was pumping into full swing, I randomly bumped into an old University chum and realised how small the world really is. Delicious food, fun, warmth, dancing – quite a day.
