Dorset Wedding Photography
St Nicholas Church and the Ashmore Countryside
Christabel (Bella as known to her friends) and Charlie came to me after seeing the photos from a friends wedding, Tom and Gee. They had been photographed without knowing and thought their wedding pictures were just lovely. The two met at a dinner party held by a mutual friend and immediately hit it off. On a trip to Mexico, Charlie proposed in a sea of crystal clear beautiful blue water! How completely romantic!
The day of the wedding was crisp and sunny, perfect to capture their memories, but not to keep all of us warm! Bella prepped excitedly in her families cottage in Dorset. She wore a lovely headband of flowers in her hair and a gorgeous cap sleeved dress. Despite church being just steps away, Bella rode over in a beautiful old open top car. Charlie’s school choir was joyfully serenading the chattering crowd of guests. The Vicar was one of Charlie’s relatives, which made the ceremony that much more intimate and memorable.
After the tear filled ceremony, the couple walked to the marquee following a bagpipe player with their guests behind them in procession. As everyone arrived at the marquee, they were serenaded by a fun little band, really revving up all the guests. After partaking in a celebratory cocktail, I led the couple into a neighbouring field for wedding portraits. To our surprise, we encountered a comical amount of sheep poo to navigate. They stepped over numerous piles, with teeth all a chatter to capture their perfect portrait. They were both such good sports about it! The light was dazzling and they never stopped clutching each others hands and smiling sweetly. Absolutely infectious!
Charlie is the director of Rocket, a very well known catering company in the UK. It was a given that Rocket would cater the wedding and the food was amazing! Hands down the best food I have ever had at a wedding! They covered all their bases – Vietnamese spring rolls, carved meats and lobster canapé with loads of tapas to chose from.
The party was lovely and lasted well into the night. I stayed till the very end and it was well worth it! What a send off, complete with fireworks, sparklers and a helpful push from guests to get their old car going that was struggling to start. Despite the cold, everyone was happy to be there, supporting this gracious and lovely couple.
