Balliol College Wedding Ceremony
Jo & Christian’s Oxford and London Wedding, Day One
Balliol College is one of the oldest and most centrally situated of the Oxford colleges. The Chapel has gorgeous wood-panelled walls and pews that face inwards. The stained glass windows and quality of light make it perfect for photographs. Seating 120 guests, it perfect for both intimate and larger ceremonies.
It may have been early October but the weather for the first day of Jo and Christian’s wedding was perfect. The couple had chosen to spread their wedding celebrations over two days. The first day was the legal wedding ceremony at Balliol College in Oxford.
Day one was an intimate celebration with a handful of Jo and Christian’s closest family and friends in attendance. The chapel is such a gorgeous setting for a wedding. The interior boasts the rich tones of wood-panelled walls and great natural light. The sun streamed through the stained glass windows creating the most perfect light for photography.
After the ceremony, the honey-coloured stone walls provided a perfect backdrop for an intimate drinks reception for their guests. The colours in the gardens were amazing with the first hints of autumn blending perfectly with the colours of the last of the late summer blooms. We made the most of the setting and its great variety of backdrops for portraits of the couple and their guests.
After such a lovely day I was really excited to meet up with Jo and Christian two days later for their second day of wedding celebrations at Merchant Taylors Hall in London.
