A Destination Wedding in France
Richard and Sarah’s wedding was my second visit to the gorgeous French wedding venue of Chateau de Lacoste. It was also my second wedding in France that week, I’d been at the equally beautiful Chateau la Durantie earlier in the week. I felt very lucky to have photographed two weddings at my favourite French venues during the same visit!
Richard and Sarah’s Pre Wedding Photos
Richard and Sarah’s wedding was a fun family affair with lots of children, including their own son. He looked adorable in his pageboy outfit! The celebrations and the photography started the day before the wedding with a party around the pool and a few portraits of Richard and Sarah. The gardens are beautiful at this time of year with everything in bloom and lots of splashes of colour.
The Wedding day at Chateau de Lacoste France
The day of the wedding brought beautiful blue skies and the celebrations began with the ceremony being held in the little private chapel in the grounds of the chateau. Afterwards, everyone walked up to the viewing point for the drinks reception. This a lovely area of the venue and makes the most of it’s elevated position with stunning views across the Dordogne.
The rest of the celebrations continued on the lawns in front of the house with mini picnic tables and a giant inflatable for the children. There hadn’t been much sunshine through the day but during the wedding breakfast, the most amazing golden light appeared. Between courses, I stole away with Richard and Sarah for some romantic portraits.
The speeches were full of fun and accompanied by lots of laughter. Fun and laughter seemed to be the theme of the evening party which continued outside on the lawns. My personal highlight was the children watching the adults having a great time playing beer pong and then setting up their own smaller version on one of the mini picnic tables!
