Emma and Stuart’s Chateau de Lacoste Wedding
Emma and Stuart’s Chateau de Lacoste wedding marked a special day for me: it was my first destination wedding and a dream one at that. Arriving two days early, I was invited to their pre-wedding dinner along with all of their family and friends. The next day, I was asked to go canoeing with everyone along the Dordogne River, but instead opted to take their photos as they headed downstream. Since I couldn’t fit my camera kit in the water-tight barrels, I didn’t want to risk ruining my equipment!
Chateau de Lacoste Wedding Chapel
The ceremony was held at the cutest and tiniest chapel I’ve ever seen. Perched on the edge of a hill with Chateau De Lacoste behind and amazing views highlighted by warm golden light in front, it couldn’t have been any more picturesque!
Drinks and Nibbles in the Garden of Chateau de Lacoste
Emma made everything herself and purchased each prop – every detail was perfect! Tables were named after places that were special to the couple, like Byron Bay, where they had their first date, and the flower clock in Hove where Stuart proposed. Photos of couples from the bride and groom’s families were displayed next to vintage cameras around the gardens. Inspired by the garden parties of the Edwardian era, Emma pictured Glenn Miller, Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald playing softly in the background. Instead of a specific colour scheme, the palette was romantic, fresh and multi-colored.
The Party
Emma and Stuart’s vision of their wedding was relaxed, entertaining and personal. The party and dancing was so amazing that I could barely drag myself away! (take note of the topless boys on the dancefloor!) Every guest had character!
I enjoyed getting to know both Emma and Stuart and appreciated how welcome they made me feel. Emma is such a beautiful, person inside and out with a smile that can light up any room.
Emma I know you searched for hours on end for a photographer, it means so much to me that you trusted me to document your special day, a huge, huge thank you for choosing me to capture your day all the way in sunny France. xx
